The Magnificent El Stroke by Blake Roten

Blake Roten has been working out of ECF Art Centers' Westside studio since 2013. Blake is a highly skilled self taught illustrator working across mediums including drawing, painting, printmaking and animation.

“BAR: #1 on what inspires me to create illustrated worlds and characters both for original character art sometimes and for fan art on special occasion over the years are a variety of distinct and diverse drawing styles, and sometimes original art about how I feel about the mysteries of the meanings of life, death, and existence themselves. #2 on how long I've been an artist was I took an Art Class in High School in my sophomore year in 2008, so yeah I've been an artist for 12 years since I was 17 years old. So #3 on my preferred medium of choice is Mixed Media, like pencils and ink-pens, watercolor, and sometimes colored pencils, and sometimes acrylic paint too. So... yeah, these are all the three answers I could think of.”
