Abstract by Nohemi Alquicira

Nohemi Alquicira joined the Whittier studio in August 2023 and quickly became a vibrant presence in the community. Known for her stylish manicures and friendly nature, she brings warmth and energy to the space, often leading lunchtime games of Uno and creating a welcoming environment for her peers.

Nohemi approaches her art practice with curiosity and enthusiasm, always eager to ask questions and explore new techniques. Over time, she has grown more confident in trusting her intuition, developing a bold and distinctive style.

Her favorite subjects are houses and flowers, often drawn with a strong sense of shape and color. Recently, she has made exciting progress in printmaking, layering geometric forms and soft tones to create dreamlike, abstract compositions.

A thoughtful and expressive artist, Nohemi takes pride in discussing her process and inspirations. Her openness, creativity, and willingness to experiment make her a joy to work with and a valued part of the studio.
