Ricardo Villareal

Ricardo Villareal has worked at ECF Art Centers' San Pedro studio since 2012. Pop-culture and LA culture are huge influences in Ricardo’s artwork. In printmaking he carves iconic imagery and geometric patterns that are printed next to one another in multiple variations; each shape is individually embellished with vibrant watercolors to make editions unique and dazzling to look at. In the studio he works freely between mediums including printmaking, ceramics, animation, and drawing while always keeping his distinct LA references in tow.
