“My artwork are about Mexican wrestlers from a long time ago and wrestlers from now. The wrestlers are from Mexico. More and more are coming over here to the United States. They live here and they wrestle here. They also travel to other countries to wrestle.”

Ricardo’s art is inspired by people and images from popular culture. They include famous Mexican wrestlers, characters from his favorite movies and cartoons such as The Grinch, Bart Simpson, Pokemon, and action movie heroes such as Sylvester Stallone and Vin Diesel.  Oftentimes fictional characters interact with real life personas and inhabit the same compositions by Ricardo including himself, his instructors, and his friends in many of his creations.
