Juanita Scott

Juanita Scott has been working out of ECF Art Centers' South L.A. studio since 1975. Juanita’s visual practice spans over four decades. Her paintings often depict objects and people familiar to her, particularly family members and elements of nature. She is observant, curious, and adventurous in her approach to painting. She embraces bold colors, gestures, new processes, and collaborative work. In her approach to art making, Juanita attends to small, often overlooked yet remarkably important facets of everyday life, having made them the focal pints of her prodigious body of work.
