Helen Paik

Helen Paik has been working out of ECF Art Centers' Downtown L.A. studio since 2007. Paik’s body of work underscores her keen observational eye and sophisticated understanding of form. In her drawings, paintings, and prints, she translates the shapes and objects of the everyday through deft usage of lines and negative space. Although her early work largely focused on animals and nature, she has transitioned into working in the realm of portraiture and explicitly incorporating autobiographical elements into her practice. In the spring of 2017, she collaborated with John Lee, an emerging video game designer from Art Center College of Design to create an video game titled “Serrano Home Care” based on her home life.
