In the Winter of 2018 through a grant awarded to the ECF Art Center Westside by the Department of Developmental Services, the Miss James residency was established.  This integrated art studio space is located at the Hawthorne Arts Complex.  The name Miss James Residency is named after Miss Wilmer James the first Program Director of the ECF Art Centers.  She believed everyone is endowed with creative ability.

ECF Artists rotate through the Miss James Residency and have the opportunity to work alongside local artists in the complex, participate in studio visits, critiques and open studio events. They develop their professional practice as an Artist alongside our Community Art Instructor and their artist peers.
