Kelsey McHale
Having joined the Whittier studio in 2023, Kelsey is deep into the process of figuring out her creative path. Starting with a focus in painting, she began with incorporating fantasy figures, anatomy, and nature based subject matter in her compositions, but has been exploring fiber arts as a way of expanding her “eclectic style.” Kelsey has a very honest take on her creative trajectory, and is highly in tune with the variance in her technique, adaptation to new media, and sometimes, non-linear successes.
“I kind of never thought I’d actually end up with any kind of portfolio at all. It’s kind of like nerve-racking and surprising. I don’t even know if people actually look at it and be like “Oh hey, there’s a person and I kind of want their art. I’m nervous about it. That people might expect more of me. I don’t think I have a consistent style yet so please don’t expect my work to all be the same quality. I’m just just a silly little guy with an attention span of a banana, so please have patience with me.”
