Jose Martinez

Jose Martinez has been working with the South Los Angeles ECF Art Center since 2018. Working primarily in acrylic paint, and on a small scale, Jose chooses to thoughtfully represent a range of subjects which often articulate his domestic environment, and long-term interests in gardening, games and ancient history. In reference to his richly saturated and finely applied brush work, Jose mentions “ When I go to see the art work in the museum, I look at the paint on the old paintings. I want my paintings to look like the old paintings in the museum.”​
