DAC Gallery presents the Collaborative Artist in Residence online exhibition. The exhibition features three 2019 Collaborative Artists in Residence: Robert Porter, Luis Zepeda, and the collaborative team Clarrie Scholtz and Paul Whang. Residency opportunities are offered at Downtown LA, South LA, Westside, and the San Pedro Art Centers. The C.A.I.R. residency was designed to facilitate collaborations between interdisciplinary creatives and ECF artists. The 2019 selected artists created artwork at the Downtown LA and San Pedro sites throughout the duration of their project. Robert Porter led printmaking workshops, resulting in a series of portraits and monotypes. Luis Zepeda introduced sewing techniques and worked with artists to create wearable garments. Clarrie Scholtz and Paul Whang explored food preparation as a medium through a series of food based activities. While each collaborative project reflected a dynamic and distinct studio environment, they each met a common goal of exchange.
